Amazing price differences - tree felling
Mike Schwing from Maryland
>I have a large cherry tree standing on the hill behind my house. Its VERY large for a cherry, a full 4.5' thick up to about 8', then three large limbs that go straight up to about 50'.
After hurricane Isabel, its the only tree still standing and I don't want it blowing over on my house during the next storm. Of course I also want the bowl blanks hidden inside.
I've started getting quotes from local tree specialists. So far I've gotten three. The job includes felling the tree, and leaving me all sections over 16" in diameter. They clear the rest and remove it. I also want the trunk section bucked into pieces manageable for me and my chainsaws.
The three quotes - all VERY reputable and very busy local tree services
1. $865
2. $1395
3. $2250
I plan on getting six quotes, but this is amazing. I'm open for any ideas other than felling it myself (please). I'm not qualified.
