Some small Bowls
David Eaves
>Hi there,
Here's a few more of my recent turnings, any comments on the form etc much appreciated.
This one is African Paduck, you even get one of my fingerprints on this. Grrr I didn't notice until I was too far away from it to take another picture. Was wet sanded to 400 and then Briwaxed.

Size is around 3" diameter by 3" tall.
The next one is really the first proper bowl I cut from a log. A rather nice about 8" diameter Beech log. Unfortunatly I didn't get hold of it soon enough really and it had started to get shakes. When I cut it up I had to go with some of these lines. Hopefully the other pieces will dry better now. Anyway I was pleased when I cut into it to find it was spalted. The log inluded a fork, and I was a little naive about the pith at this stage, so it is in the bowl. It has started to get a small crack at the near side in the picture, but hopefully it won't get much worse.

Diamter approx 7", finish as for other bowl.
With hindsight I would have been better using a white background for photographing both of these bowls too.
