>This piece is similar to the first, except the top is laminated from bloodwood, maple, and black veneer. each black square is layered veneer, 24 sheets thick. The black squares form a circular pattern if the image is clear enough.
Note the legs taper from the top to the bottom in thickness. I think it creates an arcitectural look to the piece. The lines in the top appear to be curved, they are not; this effect was created by gradually exposing different layers, each on a different plane.
