Where in the world do you find ground turquoise? Do you mix the turquoise into the epoxy then apply it or do you put the epoxy in first and then mix the turquoise into the grooves? I suspect it is all mixed first.

>Jim, I live in Arizona where much of the turquoise comes from. I cut shallow grooves with a small parting tool. I mix the turquoise with epoxy, making sort of a paste, and apply it to the grooves with a small spatula. Ask your dentist for used dental tools to poke the stuff in well. I got 6 of them, some bent. I'm glad he didn't bend them on me! I use a right angle drill and 80 to 240 sanding discs to bring the turquoise down to the level of the wood. I add a little gold dust to give it some sparkle.

That's really great! The wood is spectacular and the inlay just makes it even better. I like having the inlay set in that slightly raised area, it sets it apart even more.

Very nice photography on that piece as well. Good use of lighting and the black background.
