It seems my family hates this one...They may be right. To many different woods.
I cored out the inside of the box to use as a knob, but wood wasn't really that useable. So I looked around to see what I could use as a knob and this is what I came up with.
Maple, Bubinga, Ebony and Copper. Varnish finish. 3-1/2"h x 2-1/8"w

>I dont' know Ron, I kind of like it the way it is. Might have been interesting to have the actual knob the same as the box. But, without the opportunity to actually see it on there, it is working for me. At least the ebony compliments the black spalt lines of the maple.

If you have any imaging software (Paint Shop PRo, Photoshop Elements 2, etc.), you can easily change the colors and see what would be more pleasing to you and your family.
I find that when people say they don't like something in my work, I try and figure out exactly what it is, and how they would make it better. I may not always agree with them, but I find I always learn from the experience.
