First Two Bowls Completed

>Good Afternoon Friends,
Yesterday I tried out my new Talon chuck for the first time and spun two bowls: the first attempt in almost 65 years. I did one in box elder--the blank came from Dominic. It started out to be a bowl, and quickly became a tea cup--then a thimble. My second attempt was on a cherry blank, and even my wife said it worked out well. It was eight inches in diameter when I began, and now that I've worked it, it is sized to replace the missing button on my sweater. It was just large enough to drill two holes through for the needle and thread. I can now understand how you can get addicted to turning, and why the shop vac needs to be emptied after every session. Anyway, I thought the effort justified my initial posting on the turning forum. I'll be back every time I get in trouble. Thanks
George
