Chuck - Jet Mini

Barry

>I'm thinking of upgrading my chuck (nova) for use on the jet Mini. I'd like a Vicmarc, but too much money....KMS tools in Coquitlam (near myu home town) has the Supernova for $169 Cdn. I can use the jaw sets I currently own.

Is this too much chuck for the Jet mini?

My nova seems to be a bit 'wobbly' right now - I am getting a bit of a vibration when I run it...I ran the lathe without the chuck, and checked the headstock bering for play, and it seems to be ok.

Any advice on the Supernova would be appreacited.

>Hi Barry,

It should be fine! I have two Supernovas that I have used on the Jet mini, and they work fine!

>My Jet Mini handles the Super Nova just fine. No "wobble" or vibration at all. I do notice just a bit of "flywheeling" due to the increased weight of the Super Nova. I also have a Nova Compac chuck. Great chuck, just way too limited in capacity.
