homemade ring tool?

I could swear I remember a post about cobbling together a ring tool with some simple stuff from around the shop, but I can't seem to find it. Searched my BP archive CD too.

I don't want to buy one; I just need one little ring for a small project. I'm planning to make a small wooden tag (like an identification tag, will have initials burned into it) and attach it to something with a wood ring.

I plan to use the famous Grumbine break-and-reglue technique so it'll look impossible. (I don't know the originator of the technique, but I first heard of it from Bill, so he gets the credit).

Anyhow, if anyone can point me to a description, web site, etc, or can post how they made one, that'd be great.

Ken
