>Maple with lacquer finish

Did you ever have a kitchen table with a leg that was to long? You tried to shorten the offending leg and found that it was now shorter then the other three? So now you try to level the other three legs and by the time you get it right you wind up with a coffee table?

This is what happened with this bowl. Now, I would be lying if I said this started out the size of one of Terry's bowls. But it was close ;-)

>Hi Ron, Nice bowl but how did you get that great finish? I used Russ's method for applying laquer but I used semi gloss Deft. It came out really nice but I wished I used gloss. How'd you do yours? Alan in Md.

>I used Deft semi-gloss lacquer also. I wiped the finish on while the lathe was spinning. Waited a few moments then took a hair dyer to dry it (lathe still spinning) 0000 steel wool. Two coats applied the same way. Then Minwax Finishing wax.

I did this on a goblet - the finish looks great!

>Wow, that is a delicate bowl. You got a great finish on it too. I imagine if mice, used wooden bowls that would be the top of the range :o)
