Oneway 1018 owners interested in riser blocks?

>I am in the process of working with a machine shop to make risers for my newly acquired 1018 oneway lathe. I am thinking of 3" risers on both sides, and will hopefully be able to use the cam lock design of the original tail stock locking mechanism (any ideas here are appreciated). I will be meeting and visiting with him hopefully sometime this week.

I am unsure on what it is going to cost me, however I do know he would rather make 10 then 1 or more. I was wondering if there are other 1018 owners out there wanting a larger swing. Feel free to post/email ideas comments, or suggestions.

I am unsure of the price since we haven't discussed things yet, however I will keep everyone posted as it progresses.

>No, not yet, I have basically just recently come up with the idea. I did realize I will need a larger belt and stem for the tool rest however, I dont think that should be a problem.

I spoke with Kimberly at Oneway yesterday and she told me a 16" head and tail stock would NOT work on either a 1018 or a 1224 lathe. She said the ways are a different configuration and said absolutely "NO WAY!" I guess thats as opposed to "Oneway", huh?
