>For my first time posting I am showing two Myrtlewood pieces, the "lamp base" is not complete yet, I already drilled it but I dont feel good about its shape anymore. Looked nice on the lathe, unfortunately I cant figure out how to put it back on the lathe, guess it will be one for the wife.

>Hi John, heere's an easy way to remount the piece. Turn a spindle, forma shoulder on each end, turn the space between the shoulders to the diameter of the hole you drilled in the lamp. Cut your spindle in half, insert these into each end of the lamp. It's now ready to re-turn. hope this helps,Keith

>Thanks very much for the suggestion Keith, I followed your advise and turned a dowel as suggested, got everything ready, went into the house where the lamp base is kept and when I reached for it you should have heard the ruckus. It seems LOML is very happy with its shape and insists that the only thing I do to it is install the lamp guts.

So much for that idea.

guess its not as bad as I had felt.
