Grits are not the same. When I sand to 2000 I usually skip the micromesh and use the brown paper bag, which is about 12000 MM.

P-scale or US scale?

For example, MicroMesh 2400 is about the same as 800 grit sandpaper, according to this table. Of course this could be P-800 (which is equal to 400 CAMI) or 800 CAMI (= P-1600). My guess is that they are using the CAMI scale.
