Couldn't have done this if I'd tried

>Had a piece of walnut left over from a project. Turned this vortex/funnel shaped object out of it. Nothing special, just different. Thats not the end.
Didn't like the way it sat, looked squat and wierd, so when I turned it over to finish the bottom. I rounded it off, thinking it would just roll around on a table, and call it art. Hey, art doesn't have to make sense or have a purpose, right? I actually liked the way it then, it looked like someone might have simply pushed their thumb into the wood and it pushed out and formed the profile. Still, not the end of the story..
So there it sat, in my office, resting on the rim and the base, for a month or so. People would fool with it, and one day one of my employees walked in, picked it up, said "hmmpph", and put it down, and the darned thing balanced upright perfectly. "I'll be damned. I never even tried that." There is no flat surface on that thing folks. No way I could have tried for that result and had it work out. Neat.
