>Yes, as far as woodworking is concerned, what we want to do is bore a hole.

Large dia. and augers are expensive!

I just bought the following:

4 pc jumbo brad point set, 5/8 to 1" by eights,

for $4.95 These are not HSS and have a 3/8" shank very handy for making extensions. - item G4225.

8 pc TiN coated Silver & Deming set, 9/16" to 1" in sixteenths. Silver & Deming are short drills with a 1/2" shank. Regular points in these. Item H0565 for $29.95.

Both came from www.grizzlyoutlet.com. Shipping is $5.95 up to $25, $6.95 up to $50. I ordered them Monday and they are here already.

I also got some large taps - 1" -8 for spindle. HSS for $10. and 3/4" for $5. I am making some faceplates.

Best regards,

FredL
