Walnut hollow vessel with bark

>THis was made to specs for my wife's cousin---she wanted a dark wood, and as natural looking with bark showing. She also would have liked holes, but that would have been excessive in a piece of this size.
The colors around the bottom are very subtle, and the rest of it is a deep rich brown.
The bark goes more than halfway around the edge, as shown below:

This was never in any danger of flying apart.
If you are referring to the facct that the base is much smaller than the largest diameter, the way I do it is to turn the outside shape for about 2/3 or 3/4 of the piece, and that leaves a nice big base at the bottom for support while I hollow out the inside.
After doing the inside, I then go and finish turning down the outside, usually ending up by reverse-chucking it, preferably using the vacuum chuck.
