>Best bang for the buck is to join the Americna Association of Woodturners. $35 get you membership and "American Woodturner" 4 times per year. If you want to know how far you can go with woodturning, get "woodturning" magazine for England. It's pricey though. $70 a year.

>My vote is for "More Woodturning" put out by Fred Holder. It is a monthly newspaper that has lots of information for beginners including a question and answer section. The paper is printed on newsprint type paper and in black and white so there is no fancy glossy pictures. There is very little advertising either so the bulk of the paper is useful. I haven't seen the British publication but for $70.00 you can get a three year subscription to "More Woodturning" which I think will have more information that a beginner can use. I bought an individual copy to look at before subscribing. I think you can still do that.
