>How does one splice sanding belts? I see all kinds of great deals in eBay for sanding belts, but they are all different lengths. I have several bench top belt sanders of various widths/lengths and I think I could save some dough by splicing longer belts into the sizes I need. This would be for 220 and finer belts...not coarse ones like 60 grit.
>Peter - I confess I've never heard of anyone doing that, and since I have only one belt sander myself it's not an issue for me. But it might be worth a call to Klingspor to see what they have to say. If it's something that's feasible, you can bet they've thought about it and about selling sandpaper in rolls to the people who do it.
