Third time's the charm!

Jeremy Osner

>Last night I did my third turning project (another candlestick, out of mahogany) and it came out really close to the way I wanted it. I used my new spindle gouge, which worked much better than the gouge I had been using before -- a very helpful member of NJ Woodturners demonstrated spindle turning for me at the show on Sunday, and I was using the techniques he showed me -- I neglected to get his name, alas! This candlestick, I am going to give to my neighbor, who was over to our house yesterday and admiring the previous two. It is the first one that I think is good enough to give as a gift.

>Jeremy, good to see you are enjoying turning. Great feeling for someone to admire a piece of your hand made work. That feeling is difficult to explain to one that has never done it. I told someone the other day that I get a special feeling when someone is willing to give me money for something I made with my hands. Keep up the good work, sign it so that something will be left on this earth long after you are gone to show you were here.
