Turned with the Ellsworth gouge only, finished by sanding to 12000 micromesh, burnished w/ paper bag, one coat of mylands cellulose sanding sealer, burnished again, another coat, then buffed on the 3 wheel system.
Its 14 degreed Farenheit right now and I'm off to buck a couple of apple trunks into bowl blanks. Ech.

Maybe you could meet me there and haul off whatever you wanted. I have no control over when they burn it but there's a lot of work to be done before they're ready. Yesterday was the busy day in the basement. Today was the busy day with the chainsaw. Too cold to ride my bike, good thing I have lots of hobbies.

I have never had the opportunity to turn apple, but I have heard it is pretty but bad to split. What is your experience?
