New Lathe-No Tools
Doug Whitson in Phoenix AZ.
>Hi all, I recieved a 14"x44" lathe from harbor freight for a christmas gift. I did a search in the archives for a list of tools that a beginner needs. No luck. I've never owned a wood lathe so I'm not really sure what type of turning I'll be doing. Most likely it will be furniture feet, table legs and maybe some bed posts if thats any help. I've seen the basic set at harbor freight for about $40-do I need to go that route? Or as with power tools, buy the best I can afford? I'd really hate to mess up a "good" set because of experimenting with sharpening-(not my strong suite) but am willing to go with what you experts think. TIA for your time and trouble.
Best,
