Delta lathes ? any comments on them

>I'm considering the purchase of a Delta 46-746 16" lathe and the 46-408 duplicator attchment.

Has anybody had any experience with these units?

I don't want to buy it if it's a problematic piece, and hey, at CD$4,000.00 for the pair beore taxes it's not cheap, and it's just for hobby stuff so far, BUT I want it to last. I have a nearly new Rigid lathe with a Busy-Bee duplicator on it and it's alright but I can see I'll kill it real quick.

I have the Delta 46-745 (16" Steel bed 1.5HP), esentially the same machine with the slightly smaller motor. I have had the lathe about 9 months, and have been very happy with it. The 1.5HP motor has been quite adequate for bowls up to the maximum swing. It has also been very stable without the need to add sand or bolt it to the floor.

My only problem has been that I broke the tool rest. Delta Canada replaced it with no questions asked even though I would have to accept part of the blame.

No experience with the duplicator.
