Finishing with Renaissance Wax?

Gary Little, Manitoba, Canada

>I would like to finish my pens with Renaissance wax but since it cannot be mailed to Canada from the U.S. because it is a hazardous material, I need to either find a Canadian supplier or a similar product that is available in Canada. So far I have not been able to find a supplier in Canada. Can anyone help with the Renaissance wax or a similar product? Thanks

P.S. Cold in Manitoba today, blizzard yesterday and now -25 C! An excellent time to enjoy the lathe.

>Hi Gary, I use Arborwax made by Arbortech. See if you can find a supplier for that. Arborwax is a microcrystaline wax, which is the same as Renaisance wax. It's great stuff! For my small turnings I use the burnishing wax first, then the clear wax. Good luck.

>Lee Valley sells Renaissance Wax - only they call it Conservators Wax - 53Z31.01. $9.95 (can $'s). See your Winnipeg Store when you get shoveled out.

Arbor wax is available from Chipping Away in kitchener, Ont. Toll free 1 888 682 9801 see below for their web site. I just quickly looked through their latest catalog, and could not find the Arbor wax but I know that I bought it from them; for sure.

>Hi Gary,

I have the same problem getting it in Israel along with many other finishes. All I do is have it sent visa surface mail. Yes it takes a while so stock up.
