One of the problems I have had turning bowels (only a few,) is using a screw faceplate with a coarse threaded screw to hold the bowel.
This of course leaves a nasty hole in the bottom.
I was surpirsed at your method of using a wooden block attached to the bottom of the bowel with hot glue. ????
Seriously?? Everyday run of the mill hot glue??
I never would have thought this would be strong enough to support the blank.
What about a normal catch from a novice like me?Is that going to send it into orbit?
Is this just a tip for an accomplished "consistent" turner?
Thanks... great site.
