Simple Stools
These were an excuse to use up some scraps and to try out round tenons. It was enjoyable to use a rounder as I have few old ones that belonged to my Granddad and Great Granddad who were Wheelwrights.
I was also guided by Jack Hill's book on Country Chairs and Bob Flexner's article on soap finish. Interestingly I had no raised grain when applying the finish. The benefit of edge tools rather than abrasive.
The next chair shaped object will be a back stool. But first I want to set up my lathe and bandsaw. And I might have some gift boxes to make first. Two of these will be gifts and Christmas is coming!
