I usually by chisels in flea markets and tool shows. Also online auctions. I have paid between $5 and $35. The $5 chisel had a cracked handle. The handle was not something I wanted anyway. Had it been pristine I still would have replaced it with a more traditional handle.
The $35 chisel was a size I was anxious to have (5/16) and had what I thought was the original handle in good shape. It was a maker that I like.

Nice to look at, but has anyone made anything with one of these chisels?

I have, and use, the chisels you kindly sent.� Have had good results.� As to the "trash" knife........IT AIN'T TRASH.� Regards, and hope all is well.

Thanks for the kind words, Bill. The knives were destined for the trash or the dump, but they can definitely be used to do work that's not trash.
Glad the chisels have held up OK - with the wild guesses with the files early on, one never knows.
