Hello again, and question.

Hi everyone, hope all is well. Popping back out of lurk mode. I’m going through a continuous shop reorganization, and thought I’d post a few questions on the way.
Big question is: who do you use to host your photos? I have tons of old woodworking pics on photobucket, but I don’t think they do any free hosting anymore.

...but it's a little buggy, especially in varying geographies - their aim is to urge you to post images in a group or gallery to hopefully get something viral to bring people toward ads.

If you're using Imgur and suddenly can't find your image archive (direct through computer), just sign out and sign back in. I don't think they love it when you dump a million pictures in and link up to them without posting a public gallery, but they also don't keep you from doing it.
When I do that from my PC (load a bunch of "private" images that don't get posted to the app), sometimes can't get to my picture library and it says "oops, wrong turn" despite showing the right URL. signing out and signing back in solves the issue.

I am using the app on my phone. I’ll check out how it works on my PC.

not sure if it allows individual uploads, but you can make the "Gallery" a private gallery and it doesn't go anywhere.
They removed mobile posting ability to some extent using the mobile site in order to drive people toward the app.
I guess the one thing I've not figured out with my app version is how to post individual images later (not hard to post the gallery and post the links at that point, but harder to get an image inventory). I'm sure that's on purpose because it's free-riding the system to use them as a free image host without doing anything that could drum up traffic through the page.

Free up to a point, like photobucket was before they got all weird. I often have to shrink my phone photos down to something reasonable in size before posting on older forums, but I attribute that to the forum software more than the hosting site.

Importantly for me, this enables creating categories, and multiple ways of posting (which was the advantage Photobucket had when it started out). You can upload from a computer/device or directly from the Internet. I’ve looked at most other offerings, and this beats them all in my opinion. I still use the free version.

What is the wood?
The hosting service is a bit fiddly, I more or less assumed they all are. I kind of expect these things to be geared towards kids and their phones, so us older people with our desktop machines find them a bit clunky to use in the ways we used hosting 15 years ago 
But I never got to the other options mentioned, I stuck with ImgBB because it was the first one I found that was free, didn't involve some rather odd advertising, and worked well enough. I never even looked further, as you are doing now. Pretty cool that you're trying them all out.

It’s made of construction grade white wood from the Borg. Basically 12 by lumber- small chest.

It only automatically says "PIC" when you attach a pic using the forum upload. I don't see it when I'm using the hosting site, but then I'm also not doing an html image, its a viewer link directing to the host site. The subtleties of that distinction are lost on me, but I can do a quick test in another reply.

The WoodCentral FAQs still state that the .jpg file size limit is 100Kb. That limit has been upgraded to 1Mb.

I remembered the upgrade, but not that it was conveniently large. I didn't need to shrink that photo I just did as an example then
