Try plane finished.
Oskar
Hi all,
finally got my latest addition to the plane stable finished and want to share some of the build. Open for any discussion or comments!
Beech try plane, 24'' long with a 60 mm (2 3/8'') laminated E A Berg iron, which I inherited from my granddad.
First up, mortising and getting the abutments cut.

Paring the breast, with a piece of thin plywood as protection for the bed.

End grain shavings from this paring:

Wedge blank dimensioning. Having no power tools except for my cordless drill I find myself riving parts and wasting wood more and more with the hatchet instead of sawing. Its effective, and having the parts follow the grain direction is often useful.
