New adze
Joe shelton
As I gear up for Windsor chairs, I am both buying tools that are unfamiliar to me and am having to learn a lot more about sharpening.
I've bought a small hand adze which is not sharp and has no bevel. My inclination is to bevel it on the inside curvature, for two reasons. The outside curvature is nicely polished while the inside has been left rather rough. Secondly, I have a Pfeil scorp which is beveled on its outer curvature, and am not pleased with how it works. But an adze is not a scorp.
Any insights or suggestions?
