I will have to take them from the edge of the street cause the stuff piled on the bench toppeled ove and flowed out the garage door kind of like a land slide. but it was just more of a shift cause stuff is still 4'-5' above the top of the bench. All of this is on the power tool bench the hand tool bench is not quite as bad it loks more in line with you bench. My excuse is in line with yours I have that sunroom project going on. But to top it off I have been stacking tools and parts in a spare bedroom at night on the floor that place is a walking hazard 2-3 ft high. What is the prize any way week's of mary maid service? 9 yard dumpster to pile all the stuff that does not belong in the shop in? Pictures tonight!

It's a Walker Turner. I haven't been able to completely match it up with a particular model number, but it dates back to the late 1940's. It's got 10" swing over the bed, 12" over the gap, and 36" between centers. I got it from a guy who inherited it from his father, who bought it new back then.

It was an interesting experience -- I wound up having to completely disassemble the headstock, clean the bearings, and repack them with grease. But it's now in great shape. I have to eventually get a better mechanism to mount the motor, which probably means redoing the lathe stand, which for some reason is close to 8 feet long, even though the lathe is only 36" between centers, but it spins really nicely.

Ok. I followed the rules and went right out and took the shot. I have been doing some demo work in my house and the leftovers that wouldn't fit in the trash barrel wound up on the only relatively clear horizontal surface in the shop, my primary bench. Trash pickup is today, so it will look much better in an hour or so.

Fortunately I have a backup bench

>Just saw this post. Here are my shots. Now, these photos were taken in April. Since that time, I have received a larger lathe which can hurl bigger shavings...further. My bench is now also home to my scrollsaw and 8" drill press, extra chuck, extra jaws, at least 3 rough turned bowls. Sorry, I cannot get a current picture as SWMBO has the camera.

I`ve tried posting afew times in the past but upon re-reading it even I couldn`t understand what I was talking about.The doc has exchanged afew of the pills for monthly injections and that seems to be helping my focus and communication.I even wander down to the shop and putter occasionally now,NO power tools though(SWMBO`s orders).

The good news she`s even begun driving me around to collect rust again.Up until now I`ve only been allowed to drive back and forth to the dump by myself(about 1/2 mile on back roads).I guess she figures if I absolutely HAVE to drag it home it may as well be worth draggin.;^)

>When I'm doing woodworking, the bench is a lot cleaner. Right now, with the kitchen remodel, I'm a carpenter, and am using the shop as a staging point for tools and materials. What cutting and suchlike I'm doing right now tends to be plywood, which is too big for my shoplet (11 feet square) anyway, so it gets cut out on the driveway.

>this is my hand tool bench it is a mess from having to tear out some of the sheet rock celing to run plumbing for the sun room and grabbing tools and not putting them back for the same project. I hope to get it cleaned up real soon as I have a project or two to start.
