A week before I left Maryland in '02 for the UK, and a month before my son was born, I went to an auction, and at the end, found 1/2 the contents of a child's tool chest. I took the contents with me, stuffed in my mc jacket. I'm preparing it for my son's 5th birthday.
Do any of you have links to sites that might show me what bits I'm missing, what other kits were on the market etc. I think it's about 1930 from the design on the box (which didn't survive the trip). I've also got a few pieces from a German one, about 1980.

There was also a Stanley spokeshave and block plane and an apron. If this sounds familiar, I can ask my father if he remembers other tools.
>Odd, you mention many tool makers, but one chest. What I have are tools all by the same maker- same qualiity, same size, style, paint, and I saw the box they came in- like a really big cigar box with a picture of some boys building a boat on the front- 1920's-30's artwork.
I have a brace (2" radius), 2 foot folding rule, square, horn plane, tack hammer, mitre box, dovetail saw (5", 20tpi), crosscut 14" 10tpi, 3/8 chisel, 2x 2" C clamps, flat screwdriver.
From the Teilig (1970's?) set I have a crummy 1/2" chisel, a 6" not very accurate level, a pair of pincers for pulling nails, and a REALLY bad saw and square we won't mention.
The 1930's stuff works OK. I just don't have even a hint of who made it, or any other company who sold stuff like it. Help!
Did an image search and found your buddy l tool kit no problem, only one pic though. The tools look more substantial than what I have, though mine have proven usable. I found an image of what I have too! It's an Elite Tool Chest. Only one pic 150x200, poor quality and no info, but it's the one! MOre searching...
