O1 has been the standard for many, many years, and lots of people prefer it because they believe it can take a keener edge than A2. But A2 is claimed to hold its edge quite a bit longer (and is reportedly harder to sharpen, although it's never bothered me).

That's my understanding of this, someone correct me if I'm wrong...

I have been one who has criticized the review process or "marketing" when a new LV tool arrives on the market. This thread clearly isn't like that and although HC Sakman is a friend of Rob Lee's it could have been any end user who had kept his eye on the LV "What's New" page.

Although I think it would be great if TLN also participated on this website I would have to assume he is a busy man just trying to keep up to the demand for hand tools.

That unfortunate thing about all of this is that we will continue to get exactly what we want from whatever users we continue to get feedback from - but the general readership of various boards won't.

Continuing to imply that reviews are "marketing" will just continue to kill off the contributions of those that add so much to these forums. The stuff at the top of the page is marketing... and that's what gives people a place to post in the fist place.

We fill more than a million orders per year... surely you don't think that those come as a result of what get's posted here? A widely read message may get viewed 500 times before it scrolls off the bottom...

While I can't speak for others - I participate here because I enjoy it. I continue to enjoy discussions with many people here off the boards too - as some of them no longer wish to continue to post in public.

I make no apology for the number of new products we introduce - nor for the discussion they generate. And I'll continue to answer questions people ask of me directly...
