Re: Small Tenon Saw

>Hi Sandor,
The handle shape is taken in total from a Peace saw I once had and made a template of--still kicking myself for selling it.
This saw has a slit brass back epoxied on ala LN/Adria. Kinda hard to tell until I just looked at the end. My folded backs, which I bend myself, look near identical. I personally like the folded backs better and think they will stand the test of time better.
The split nuts I have made by a local machine shop--and that has been a rough go, but things have evened out and they have committed to making them more frequently.
Ah, it is a customer's saw--we've recently started making saws for a larger audience than last year. Which means everyone .
The hard part for me isn't parting with the saw--it's some of the wood lol. My eldest son who works with me looked over when I was resawing some handle stock yesterday and commented he thought I would have stashed that piece [red and black Cocobolo, not the piece in the message above] and hidden it away...it was tempting. But where would stop? You should see some of the Rosewood...
Take care, Mike
