Am I crafty or what? He he...

>We (my family) went to visit my BIL who lives out of town, to spend Boxing Day away from the temptations of consumerism... Since he lives far away we stayed overnight.
A few years ago, when my in-laws moved from their house to a retirement home there were lots of stuff that they were getting rid of. One of these things was a tool box that belonged to my BIL's grandfather. There were a bunch of old rusty tools in there, and it seemed that these were going to the trash bin. I quickly salvaged that box and brought it home.
I eventually went through the box, and cleaned the tools in there. Among the tools was a Stanley #6C, a Millers Falls #85, and a Millers Falls #4 bullnose plane.
Now, since we were visiting my BIL, it seemed right to bring some kind of a gift. I've always felt uncomfortable to have "inherited" these tools when they're in fact his ancestor's. Add to that the fact that he has limited means, and he never buys a tool unless he has no way to make one by himself. So I gave him the Stanley. He was extremely happy to receive the plane, and I felt that justice was done.
But now, I don't have a plane longer than a jack, that's an unacceptable situation, no? I see a jointer in my future...
