>Popular Woodworking for August 2005 has an article entitled "$5 Router Plane". This has a simple wooden base and uses an allen wrench for a cutter. The only complicated part is shaping a hole in a thumbscrew to hold the cutter.

>Anybody know if the router plane with wooden knobs between the #271 look-a-likes in the lower right corner of the picture is the "ANDY" router plane available from St. James Bay. I always wondered about the scale of the SJB router planes compared to a #271.

>Well, I had tried their site this morning thinking I had seen something like that there before, but I never did get in. It works now though. That looks like a neat little plane. I just sent them an email inquiring how much and how to order.
Thanks,
Tony
