>Has anyone read this book? I got real excited when I heard Len Bracket was planing a book, and it has been a LONG time coming. On the other hand, Peggy Rao who is a co-author specializes is interior design books. Len runs East Wind, is a classicaly trained Japanese temple carpenter, and has written a couple of interesting articles for FWW, and FHB. Unfortunately I see zero feedback in amazon or anywhere else. Now that Amazon is heavily dinging Canadian postage I gotta spend wisely!

>It's a wonderful book, you could almost build a Japanese house following the directions. And he details the construction of an elegent guest house. I found it at Hida during Kezuou-kai this past October, even got a signed copy.

Michael Morningstar, who works for East Wind, is resident at Hiraide; and there's now a link from Hiraide to EW, which is a bit curious. Mike, Chris Hall and the book have been most helpful in finalizing the design for my timber framed workshop.

>Great news, I've been waiting for it since Len mentioned it in an email in early 02. I hoped it would be technical or useful to the technical. Thanks for the review.

>If you're interested in what the japanese do with there homes once built I wholeheartedly recommend "Japanese Style" by 4 authors/photographers Suzanne Slesin, Stafford Cliff, Daniel Rozensztroch and Giles De Charbaneix..Potter Publishing..interiors of hundreds of home in all styles, income brackets. A glimpse not generally afforded to western eyes. Truly a terrific book.
