>The plan of attack that I have is based on the assumption that the pin is CRS. I really don't think that a hardened pin would have been necessary.
1. Use very small center drill and high RPMs to "spot" the center of the pins.
2. Drill a 1/16" hole through the pin "feeling for break out".
3. Depending on how accurate I am with my center drill, I will then use th right size drillbit to drill out the pin completely or slightly undersize.
4. An alternate approach is to use the smallest easyout available, or a left handed drillbit 1/64" smaller than the pin diameter.
5. The 1/16" hole will guide whatever drill I use down the center of the pin.
What do you think about this?
If I screw up the wood. I could make a custom version.
My intent is not to pawn it off as being in perfect shape. It will still be for my use.
