>Anyone happen to know what the spindle diameter and thread on a STanley 610 is? I have the chance to buy one, but the chuck is missing its jaws, and I'm wondering if one of the eggbeater-drill chucks I already have will fit it.

>Mine has a pretty small chuck. The spindle is 3/8" dia. X 28 tpi. The chuck itself is only 7/8" diameter, and 1-3/8" long overall. It has Stanley U.S. PAT 3-23-15 stamped below the knurling on the chuck, and the chuck has a small screw in the side. The handle has the early SW logo and PAT APPL'D FOR stamped on it. (Don't know if the one you are looking at is the same vintage). Book says that they were made from 1923 to 1935. Also says that they had a unique chuck. (Gee, thanks Stanley). Hope this helps. -Wayne

>In the last year or two, the occasional 610's that have shown up on Ebay have been selling for $20 or less, so I wouldn't spend too much on an incomplete one. I haven't checked in a few months though.

>I let TWO get away for under $10 each. I'm sure looking forward to getting the house paid off - then maybe I can spend silly a little.
