>Can anyone identify these parts? They came with a combination plane, Stanley 50, that I purchased recently. However, as far as I can tell, they don't seem to belong to the plane.

>It looks like a Stanley #49 auger depth stop. Both pieces are held together with the long bolt. Auger goes between the two pieces and the two flat feet define the stop point. Tighten with the wing nut and drill away. You can also use a twist tie to mark the depth on the auger bit, but this device works better because it does not move when it hits the correct depth.
