>What do you mean by Dovetail Guide? You need very few tools to hand cut dovetails.Backsaw, chisel and a knife or something else to mark with. You can get the angle/slope of your dovetails using a ruler and a bevel. There are plenty of tutorials available on how to cut dovetails. I enclosed a link to our articles section that shows one way to lay them out.---Jack

>Rob Cosman's basic dovetail tape available from Lie-Nielsen covers layout and marking, and is one of several DVDs from various authors that over the topic. Try to ignore the pitch for the $100 dovetail saw and $300 smooth plane for now - pick up an $8 Zona back saw, some Blue Chip chisels, and enough #2 pine to let you feel like you can waste some material on just practicing your cuts.
Cos's divider trick and cool little home-made layout tool will give you enough in the way of training wheels to get you moving down the slippery slope towards Dovetail Nirvana.
Other refs, such as Kirby's 'The Complete Dovetail', Tage Frid's combined Volume 1 & 2 of 'T F Teaches Woodworking', Frank Klausz' 'Dovetail a Drawer' tape, etc. will flesh out your selection of techniques and tools should you desire more written or multi-media instruction.
