Milling lumber by hand?

>So here is my problem. My in laws live on a 5 acre property that is mostly a wood lot with some largish mature trees. In the last wind storm we had here in Montreal a large oak was toppled and I would love to try my hand at salvaging the wood for use. The problems are many. One, the tree is in a ravine and much too big to haul out as we don’t have a fancy front loader or massive 4x4 with winch. Two, my father in law would not like to force a road in to the property, which I fully understand, and support, so no way to get a vehicle in. Three, the tree is very near to the owl rehab cages my mother in law has and she would not appreciate a chain saw that close to the resident owls. So that leaves hand saws. We have a large crosscut saw that works very well at bucking the tree, but I have no clue where to find a large rip saw to cut it into planks. Old saws would be nice but I have not seen any listed in my wanderings on the net. If any of you out there have any ideas I would certainly appreciate your input.
Thanks,
Pat
