>I have seen this more then a few times on ebay. While back there was a no.1 Stanley that didn't sell and with in a week 2 other sellers had identical photos and descriptions up in seperate parts of the country and Can. having collected them from the original seller. I emailed them and the one guy said he couldn't take photos so just "borried" the other sellers. I reported it to ebay and the auction was pulled. Imagine this happens a good bit
The other night I sold a pair of Saddle bags on ebay for a bit over $1,200. Today I get an email from the back up bidder saying that he had been contacted by someone pretending to be me offering him the bags for his high bid saying that the deal feel though with the high bidder. Of course I never did this and I don't anticipate any problims with the high bidder. I had the identical think happen last year on a pricy pair of Binoculars I sold. I guess scammers cruise the 'bay looking for auctions that end at high prices and send emails out hoping that the back up bidders are slow heads and will send them the cash. If it works one time out of a 100 they are making out....got to be careful out there
Oh by the way in my opinon this axe looks "Funny" to me, not HaHa funny but funny queer. While hard to tell by one small photo the head sure looks like a fake to me. Kind of interesting that a scammer would pick a fake axe in his attempt to pull off his con , eh?....Todd
