Inlay Cutter

>Can anyone direct me to a merchant that sells this tool for inlaying? I know that the experienced inlayers make their own tools but since I'm just beginning with this I'd rather start with a proven tool instead. Tia, Tom.

I don't think you'll like the price - $200.00

I would recommend a copy of Robert Wearing's book which has a simple plan. It's really just a gauge with facilities for holding 2 knives.

You could also consider the old Preston "string router" design.

Which use combine nicker-clearer blades:

>Has anyone actually used the inlay cutters sold by LV/GW? I've put them in the shopping cart several times over the past year, but never yet pulled the trigger, couldn't get past no obvious means to guide them. Do you use a battan? If so, how?

Thanks,

Pam
