yet more questions on making round edge profiles

>To repeat, I find myself needing to make round profiles on edges and a power router is inconvenient/useless in situations where the edge is curved or one only wants a section of a circle, not a 1/2 round. This post relates to the discussion of hollows down below. There seemed to be interest in this topic so I'll ask some question to dig a little deeper.
I got several suggestions to shave the profile approximately round and then scrape to refine the profile (as an alternative to a round plane). I have questions on this approach.
I can scrape flat surfaces to some satisfaction;heck I scraped a whole floor once. But my experience on edges is that they wind up fuzzy, no doubt a result of poor technique or ill prepared tool.
1. When using a scraper on an edge is the scraper tilted forward from 90 degrees? About how much?
1a. Is the whole profile scraped at once , ie scraper hole matches profile desired, or does one work around the edge a section at a time with a scraper hole larger than the desired profile of the edge?
2. In preparing a scraper for a round profile does one make the hole in the scraper a section of a circle or an ellipse. If it is not a circle then how does one guess/calculate?? the correct hole shape? While we are at it are the the profiles of irons in rounds sections of a circle or an ellipse.
3. For edge scraping is the scraper edge sharpened at 90 degrees or beveled (how much)? Anything about making this sharpened edge different from a card scraper?
Thanks in advance for sage advice.
