Suggestion for Rob Lee

>After reading the review below of the new scrub plane I had an idea. I'm sure your people have already thought of it and for some reason it was not feasable, but just in case here's my thought. Why not offer your planes with several different size and shape totes and front knobs. People could kind of customize their plane by ordering the one that they find most comfortable. Or stay with your standard handles but offer differnt sizes and shapes that could be bought individually. Customers could mix and match. For instance, I LOVE the front knob on my LV scraper plane, the mushroom shape fits my hand great and it feels perfect. I would like it for all my planes but as of yet it's not an option. Also the new tote looks a little uncomfortable for my average to slightly small hand (not tried it yet). Maybe offer the same basic shape but slightly smaller. Maybe you could also offer it slightly bigger. I know I can file it down but I'd sure have a hard time reproducing that awesome front knob. No two hands are alike so one or two totes and knob sizes/styles could hardly accomodate everyone. It would seem the single biggest debate about your planes is the handles. You still wouldn't please everbody but I think it would please a lot more folks. Just an idea. Thanks for reading.

Stock control "issues". A simpler solution, discussed elsewhere, is to offer just 2 handles. "Normal" (i.e. the current handle) and pre-drilled blank, for a woodworker to shape to their own preferances. It's really only the drilling of the through-holes that's tricky.
