Spokeshave update

>Impatience won the day! I took the shave (see 'spokeshave newbie' thread from earlier today) for a test drive and I don't think I could be happier with the performance. Nice clean shavings on pine, poplar, cherry and boxwood (long and end grain!). Gotta build me a shaving pony and then I am one step closer to being able to attempt chairs like Chris Schwartz wrote about in Pop Wood a month or so ago. Drew Langsner's book is on the way as well. I showed the pics of that chair to a friend and he wants 4 of them. I got a steep learning curve ahead so expect lots of questions!

Thanks everyone!

>You found another slope to slip down!

If you have the space, think about a real shaving horse.

>Spokeshaves are just like coathangers. They tend to multiply and you always seem to end up with at least one or two more than you remember getting. Cute little critters ain't they ;-)

>Oh, I'm already sliding down that slope! Scrub plane, crude frame saw, dovetail marker re-ground from a Veritas saddle square... Yup, this slope is dangerous. Hey, who greased the sliiiiide?!?!?!?!?!
