Help Finding Old Tool Dealer in GA/AL area

Mark Kauder, Phenix City, AL

>A woman in our town learned that I am a woodworker (mostly woodturning) and contacted me about selling the tools of her recently deceased father. I told her I would try if I could, or would find someone who could.

She sent me a card file filled with 5x7 cards that he kept on all his old tools, as well as a few photos.

I am out of my depth on this one. The tools look to be fairly common fair. No - there is no Stanley #1 plate listed. These look like most of the stuff that I see in Antique Malls across the country. Some coffin planes, hand saws, auger bits, etc.

I would like to put her in touch with someone that reqularly deals with this sort of stuff.

Any ideas guys and gals??

Mark

>There's a fellow I met in Cashiers, NC last weekend, Jim Conover, who deals in old tools. He's from Knoxville, TN. I'm not exactly sure how to get ahold of him, although you could probably get his particulars from the MWTCA, ( Mid Western Tool Collectors Association). He's a real nice guy and easy to talk to.
