My try plane doesn't like the heat..bench update

>I've been straightening one edge of all the wood for my workbench, and, it's been going great, no real problems. But, my try plane was really acting terrible today, I couldn't take a nice continuous shaving - I mean, a few days ago it was taking 12' shavings no problem. I wondered if the extreme heat had gotten to the plane, and I checked it with winding sticks, and low and behold, I see a fair amount of twist... What should I do? It's an old wooden plane I got off the Bay, and I know it's got a bit of a hollow in front of the mouth, but otherwise when I sharpened the iron when I got the plane, it has worked spot on. Does the plane need a pass over a jointer to true up the sole - or is another drastic weather change going to mess me up again...?
I managed to finish straightening all the wood for my bench with my fore plane (another woodie that I the heat seems to be efecting too, but not as bad), with a fairly crazy bunch of blocks and clamps, on my very pitiful bench - you really need a bench, to build one! This is a shot of how I cobbled together a few pipe clamps and a few 2 by 4's into essentially two leg vises, to try the edges of my workbench material.
Thanks guys.
