>Hi Tony- I wonder if this is the program that was videod by PA public televison? I friend had the DVD of the show he bought from them and I had a chance to borrow it. Truly inspiring as he walks you through his home filled with reproductions of 18th Century pieces. He then goes into the shop, you get to look around, and then he does a quick dovetail joint. Amazing economy of motion is his dovetail technique and he uses very little marking and almost no setup. In case you folks couldn't tell, I HIGHLY recommend this DVD.

>Dave,

I can't answer that positively, but it sounds very similar. PCN network is a non-profit consortium of Pennsylvania cable service providers. Shows are all public service types, factory tours, etc.

PCN does sell DVD's of the show. If anyone is interested, search the web for "PCN Cable Network".

Basically Mr. Landon described some chair assembly, and then went into a table that was a project at "Old Mill Cabinet Shop" in York, PA where he teaches. He then demostrated building the drawer for that table, including some milling, then marking and laying out full and half blind dovetails and assembly of the drawer. He then concluded the hour long show with a tour of his home and prior furniture projects along with a bit of a tour of his "clock" shop!

This is the third time I have seen the show and in fact my first viewing about 2 or 3 years ago prompted me to migrate from the dark side into handtool use. What is interesting is viewing the show over several years and measuring my own progress!

I read an article about Mr. Landon some time ago and was impressed at the length he goes to in ensuring historical accuracy in his projects. That includes stickering of black walnut outside in mud and much for years just so it has the right "patina".

Truly an amazing craftsman!
