A good day

Moses Yoder in White Pigeon, MI

>Every once in a while a person needs a really good day to make up for all the moderate and not so good days that seem to be normal. Today was my day ;) My wife's uncle is coming over next weekend, a fellow woodwrecker, plus I had meant to get around to cleaning my shop anyway. So earlier this week I decided this would be the weekend to get a round tuit. Then I figured while I was cleaning up that one corner, I might as well hang the last four sheets of drywall. Then I had a pretty good idea of how I could organize a number of items plus my sheet goods, so I had a pretty busy weekend planned. But I decided first things had to be first, so when I got up this morning the first thing was to go to a swap meet that is pretty far off the beaten path. I picked up a user #46, which is something I wanted for a few years now, and a couple other tools at what I thought were bargain prices. Came home and spent the rest of the day puttering in the shop, and can see now what a big difference this could make in how my shop is set up. It will actually have room for projects once I get done. So it was a really good day; hope yours was the same or better.

My day

Jack Guzman from Maine

>Hi Moses.Congratulations on the 46.I'm still looking for mine.My day was pretty interesting.I live down the street from a museum village and just recently the director became a client for carpentry. She asked me if I would be interested in doing any kind of demo for the museum. So I committed to a couple days this summer.Today was the first.I got set up on a pretty solid bench and proceeded to start dovetailing together a tool tote.

Well,we ended up having a drizzly chilly day today and hardly anyone felt the desire to visit a museum. I got 5 spectators. One however stayed and talked for almost an hour. He was a fellow woodworker who was very interested in what I was doing. We exchanged cards and plan on meeting up again soon.I wasn't too disappointed.I would have preferred a bit more traffic but I got the tote built made some friends and made plans for future demos. Not to mention the proximity to some really nice tools.Besides,if I had stayed home I would have done the same work but missed out on the company.

All in all, I'd call it a good day.---Jack

>Bumped around in the shop yesterday. Knocked off a few odds and ends, nothing special. Brought everything inside so Dennis wouldn't blow hem away.

I didn't get in any rust hunting, and I certainly didn't find a #46. :~( Congrats on yours Moses.
