Too bad all the Record planes are from the 60-70's.
Nics grouping of LN though... ;^)

>hehe...more shelves? LOL...Actually that's an increase over the plans for that case. That's my modified version of David Thiel's 4 hour bookcase from PW. See David's bookcase has some issues...like it's only 5' tall and it calls for crown molding on the top. I'm 5' 10" and I could see *OVER* the molding if I built it to spec. So I built it 6' tall, made it wider (34"), made all shelves fixed, and used inverted baseboard molding.
Anyway the Record planes are actually:
043, 044, 050, 071, and there's a 405 hidden under a box on the bottom shelf. The box contains a set of 405 extra bases and blades. Also, there's a 2506 in bubble wrap on top of the two Clifton spokeshaves.
Behind that *ahem* box of parts for a box joint jig, is a Stanley 45, another Record 044 (bound for ebay one day), a Record 077, and an older Veritas 4 1/2.
I think this is about half of the hand tools I have. The stack of Clifton bench planes is out in the shop along with chisels, other planes, hammers, etc. That does not count the Craftsman wrenches, socket set, and screwdrivers...I don't consider mechanic's tools as "hand tools" in the woodworking sense.
Over on the bottom right corner on the floor is a box containing a mint Millers Falls brace (truly mint from what I can tell) and a mint boxed set of Irwin Auger bits from Ebay. Finally, somewhere in there is a pre-production Veritas Scrub and a pre-production Veritas MKII honing guide.
Glad to hear it Chris if'in I can

>shorten your name ;^). It looks great, a fine job IMHO.
Am I getting you correctly... You have a set of H&R's for your Record combo plane? If so You get a big you SUCK! I'd love to see of that cabinet pic of it full. BTW if you built that tall will you be able to see the planes on top of it when the time comes?...;^)

>Actually that sucking noise you heard was the sound of the money sucking out of my wallet over to Tony Murland's for those 405 bases. Oh an inside the 405 box is the extra set of blades from Clifton (minus one fluting blade) that were acquired cheaply on Ebay. For some reason people stayed away from the auction since they were missing one, I guess.
Alas, the hand tool book case is not permanent (thankfully). *When* I finish my hand tool cabinet, all this stuff is headed out there. I have the main case and doors completed. I need to mount the hinges and put a finish on it. Then I can actually start adding the storage shelves, etc to it, mount the big thing, and put all the stuff in it (sans boxes). The boxes will be headed for storage in a BIG box that will sit in a back room for safe keeping.
